Mobile Internet Protocol. Designed for
mobile devices such as phones and pads on gprs and other mobile networks,
mip allows people using mobile internet connections to stay connected
while on the move. Unlike fixed-line connections such as modem
dial-ups and dsl, mobile devices have no fixed position on the
network and thus need a way of telling it where they are at any given time.
Mip manages the transitions between different areas of the mobile network
without the need for a user to continually reconnect. The latest version,
Mipv6, is a subset of the ipv6 protocol |
